Defective Products

Product liability law governs the course of action for compensating customers injured by dangerous or defective products. Manufacturers and product companies are held responsible for any damage caused by the merchandise they sell.

 

There are three types of merchandise deficiencies that can sustain liability for manufacturers and suppliers; defects in marketing, manufacturing defects, and design defects. Design defects are flaws in the merchandise before the product is manufactured. Manufacturing defects occur while the product is being constructed or produced, and defects in marketing involve improper instructions and/or failures to warn consumers or potential dangers of the product.
